Fixed my transmission for under $150.00
Great service, very nice honest people
I am very pleased with level of service we received from the lake forest aamco, the turn around was amazingly. Short and ken gave us the type of customer service which will keep us coming back.
Great service, Ken was really helpful.
You are the bee's knees.
I recently moved here from Northern California and have been dreading finding a new mechanic to go to. After some research, I'm incredibly glad I found AAMCO Transmissions. Erik is the man in charge and is very transparent about his work. On top of that, he is incredibly responsive and if I don’t answer my phone he leaves a message with an update on my car! My 02 Lexus started shifting clunky and these guys checked it out for free before quoting pricing. While I did end up needing to fix my transmission, they offered financing for 12 months NO INTEREST. They were pretty quick as it only took 4 days for the entire process of fixing the transmission. Overall, I had as pleasant of an experience as you can have at an auto repair shop. A place of professionalism...go see Erik if you decide to go!!
Hard to say this, from me working on vehicles my whole childhood growing up, got to say these guys mean no joke. They are GREAT! HONEST! TRUST WORTHY! HUGE MONEY SAVERS! SAVED ME OVER $700
Under New Ownership and Management! As of December 2018 Aamco Lake Forest has re opened with world class customer service as our business model. Here at AAMCO Lake Forest we have taken over this location as of December 1st. Any reviews from before December 1st are from the previous owner and we would like to hear from anyone who had an issue back then so we can try to help them resolve the issue... Please call us so we can help out. Another Satisfied Customer Review..... Earlier this week I was told by VW that my transmission was dead and all I could do was replace the whole thing (for a quoted $6,666) or try and sell my car for the pennies it would be worth with a bum transmission. Completely horrified, I decided I needed a second opinion and came to AAMCO, and thank god I did. I spoke to Erik over the phone who helped calm me down a bit and assured me that the part that VW said was irreplaceable was in fact completely replaceable, and even if I needed a new transmission it would come nowhere near 6k, so already I'm feeling better. I bring my car in the next day (Erik offered to have it towed in if it couldn't be driven, but it seemed to be driving fine). The shop was packed, but nevertheless Erik calls a quick hour and a half later to say there is nothing wrong with my transmission. NO-THING. VW did have to replace my battery, and he said that sometimes low voltage can mess with a car's computer and it will give funky readings, so that may have messed up the dealership (but still, shouldn't they have known that and counseled me accordingly?). All of this good news came to $0. That's right, COMPLETELY FREE for an external diagnosis (VW charged me $60 to deliver the bad "news"). Here's the skinny-- I am a girl, and I know nothing about cars. I hate taking my car in for work because I feel like I'm going to be taken advantage of and deceived at every turn. I gave Erik (and company) a print out of what the dealership told me was wrong-- they could have easily just corroborated the story and taken me for a couple thousand, but they didn't. They were HONEST and RESPECTFUL and I would feel very confident taking my car to them in the future. I interacted with three guys there, I only caught Erik's name but all three of them were exceedingly polite, helpful, and responsive. Bad car news will come eventually, but good, honest mechanics are priceless and based on my experience
